There’s nothing new about hosting a ceremony of awards from the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. This February will mark the 102nd annual ceremony. What is new is the Chamber’s desire to recognize unsung heroes.
Chamber President Megan Barfield said beyond the Citizen of the Year and NextGen Leader of the Year awards, this year will be about recognizing those making an impact on our community.
"We're asking people to submit the names of people that you see who are quiet stewards," said Barfield. "They're out doing good work. They are service oriented and they're not doing it for the fame or glory. They're just doing it because it needs done. We know there are a lot of those people and businesses out there."
Barfield said to contact the Chamber office to submit names of unsung heroes.
The Chamber banquet will take place Feb. 24 at Corinthians Hill Event Center. Tickets can be purchased at greatbend.org.
