Great Bend Volleyball is in Overland Park this weekend for their state championships, and for the first time ever, as the number 1 seed in 5A. The Panthers are 34-3 on the year, and hope to make a run. Junior Mikayla Minton gave credit to the preparation and experience the Panthers have that have led them to where they are,
"I think something we've focused on this season a lot is staying calm. We know what we're doing. We've practiced enough, we have the right skills. So when things start turning and going the wrong way, we just know it's going to come back for us. We have the energy, we're going to get back into it. So we're going to be fine."
Sophomore Jaya Stroup also wanted to give credit to her fellow teammates for keeping everyone steady.
"We're very blessed to have teammates that come and help support you, or calm you down if you are in your head, or if you're not having your best game. Very blessed for the teammates."
The Panthers will play Blue Valley Southwest, Lansing, and Maize South in pool play on Friday, October 30th.
