K-State horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini urges gardeners not to bury peonies too deep, which increases the chance that they may not flower.

Anthony Eugene “Tony” Wohletz, 82, passed away Feb. 6, 2024, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. He was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Willowdale, Kan. to Eugene & Fannie (Bell) Wohletz.

A longtime Zenda resident, Tony was a current Larned resident. He worked as an equipment operator for 41 years at KDOT. He was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, playing Bingo, watching the news, and growing sunflowers.

Survivors include, four grandchildren, Jasmine Wohletz, Donovan Severt, Jesse Wohletz and Angela Ryan. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Zoella; and two daughters, Ann Tournear and Karyeen.

Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Anthony Wohletz Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
