
On Sept. 28, 2022, the Great Bend Police Department took a report of a theft which occurred at the Great Bend Middle School. The item reported stolen was a black BMX style "FlyBikes," custom built bicycle. The cost to replace the bicycle is $2500.
Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify the person seen cutting the lock off the bicycle and taking it. On Oct. 12, detectives with the assistance of the Rice County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 102 E. 2nd, Alden in Rice County, in connection to this case.
Located on the property was the stolen BMX bicycle. Identified in the video, Michael Glass, age 42, was also located at the residence and was arrested. Glass was transported to the Barton County Detention Center where he was booked on a charge of Felony Theft.
This investigation is still ongoing.
