The Hoisington Public Library, on Walnut Street, has been the recipient of 100 new children’s books with the assistance of the State Library of Kansas from the Brownstone Foundation. This non-competitive grant was received last fall, and the books were chosen by the Central Kansas Library System.

The library received the new books in mid-February and are displayed at the library.

The Brownstone Foundation chose 100 libraries in Kansas as the recipients.

“We are so pleased to add these books to our collection,” Karen La Pierre, director of the library, said.

The Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City interested in fostering early reading, a love of books, and encouraging parents and children to read together.
