Great Bend Post
28 years. 28 years of creating Christmas magic for children in the Great Bend area.
That’s how long the Great Bend Recreation Commission has been hosting Santa’s Workshop. This year’s event takes place tonight at the City Auditorium on Stone Street.
With plenty of holiday crafts, prizes and treats available, Great Bend Rec Enrichment Director Garet Fitzpatrick said to make sure you get your visit with Santa Claus.
"Make sure you get in line for Santa early in the evening," said Fitzpatrick. "He's the show stopper of the whole program. Get in line for Santa then you go to the other activities. Santa does have to get back to the North Pole, so eventually that line has to stop."
Santa’s Workshop is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9. Citizens can enter through the doors located on the southwest corner of the auditorium.
For younger children, a more “quiet” Christmas experience is available in the Burnside Room of the Rec Center. For this event, enter through the northeast door of the Burnside Room.
