Marcialee B. Lawrence-McDonald, 86, passed away Jan. 14, 2024, at her home in Great Bend.
She was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Dail Isaac and Ella Jane Mooney Lawrence.
A longtime area resident, she was a cosmetologist and a Licensed Mental Health Technician at Larned State Hospital. She attended First Southern Baptist Church, Larned, and loved knitting, painting, sewing, and was an avid reader.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sherry (John) Castaneda, Lewis, Janice Perez, Great Bend; two sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Leander, Texas, Elsie (David) Helget, Hugoton; four grandchildren, Rashad (Jill) Castaneda, Kale (Cassie) Castaneda, Jason (Brandi) Boese, Kylie (Mace) Sarles; eighteen great grandchildren, Adrian, Isabel, Tarik, Takara, Kalan, Kanton, Diego, Shaylyn, Tristen, Erin, Gunnar, Mariah, Zoey, Gemma, Julie, Macie, Daelyn, Liam; one great-great grandson, Axton; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Michael McDonald; son, Craig Helzer; sister Marjorie Stapleton; brother, Marvin Lawrence; and grandson, Aaron Boese.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at First Southern Baptist Church, Larned, with Pastor John Paulson presiding. Inurnment to follow in Wayne Cemetery, Lewis.
