RICE COUNTY — Two individuals are in custody following a search warrant executed Wednesday in Lyons as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
According to the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, working in coordination with the Lyons Police Department, carried out the warrant April 15 in the 400 block of West Avenue South.
Authorities said the search resulted in the arrest of two suspects on multiple drug-related charges.
One individual faces charges that include distribution of certain stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of opiate, opium, or narcotic drugs, possession of a stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to have a drug tax stamp.
The second individual is charged with distribution of certain stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to have a drug tax stamp.
Both individuals are being held on $100,000 bond.
Rice County Sheriff Nick Sowers said the arrests reflect ongoing efforts to address illegal drug activity in the community.
“We continue to hear from our community about concerns related to illegal drug activity, and we are working to address those concerns,” Sowers said. “Efforts like this are made possible through strong partnerships with agencies like the Lyons Police Department and a shared commitment to holding individuals accountable while serving our community.”
