Posted Mar 22, 2026 2:47 PM

The Fort Larned National Historic Site invites you to experience a day of living history during its annual Mess and Muster event at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25th. This year’s theme is Military Signals and Music, with a look at how the U.S. Army communicated in the 1860s. The event will feature re-enactments, drills, demonstrations, and special talks about what life was like during the days of the cavalry, infantry and Plains Indians.  Mess and Muster is free and open to the public, however reservations are required prior to April 16th for the evening meal.  To find out more, call the Fort at 620-285-6911 or visit https://www.ftlarnedoldguard.com/join-.  Fort Larned is six miles west of Larned on Highway 156.
