
Every coach wants his team to be bowling its best at the end of the season. Monday in Hays, the Lady Panther bowling team not only put up its best score of the season, but also the best series score in school history. Great Bend defeated Hays 2,626 to 895 in the regular-season finale. The Panther boys won 2,447 to 2,188.
The Lady Panthers swept the top-six series against the new Hays program. Kaylin Wahlmeier was again cruising towards 700 with games of 257 and 244 before coming up just shy with a 191 in her final game for a 692 series. Sahara Rziha was big all day with games of 258, 221, and 200 for a 679 series. Aliyah Fryberger had the high-game of 269 in her middle game, finishing with a 203 for a 633 series.
Zoey Mayberry was also hot early with games of 229 and 222 en route to a 611 series. Paige Heine topped out at 172 for a 478 series, and Emilee Nelson rolled a 427.
The Panther boys had five of the top-six series. Jalen Daniels dominated the field with games of 242, 205, and 225 for a 672 series. The rest of the Panthers packed up. Caleb McNett finished with a 211 game and 581 series for third overall. Dylan Ferguson rolled a 211 in his middle game and finished just two pins behind McNett in fourth with a 579. Kamron Stude was consistent with a 201 and 197 to finish with a 577 series. Kolby Burnham finished strong with a 209 and 521 series for eighth, and Jordan Manning opened with a 184 for a 492 series in 10th.
Great Bend heads to Hutchinson Wednesday for regional action.
