Panther swimmers compete in Maize

Points came at a premium for a small Panther swim team contingent in the second meet of the season Saturday in Maize. Great Bend scored 10 points to finish at the bottom of the 12-team field. Andover scored 447 points for the win, followed by Winfield with 331 points.

All 10 of those points came in the 200 free relay where Joshua Sharpe, Quinton Heath, Matthew Williams, and Adam Hall placed 24th in 2:13.45. Andover won the race by three seconds in 1:33.66.

Sharpe came close to a point in the 100 back, placing 22nd in 1:27.04 to miss the final point by eight seconds. Sharpe finished 25th in the 200 free in 3:04.23 to miss a point by 33 seconds. Williams swam 21st in the 200 IM in 3:04.61 to miss the final point by 14 seconds. Hall placed 20th in the 50 free in 26.94 to miss a point by just over half a second.
