Central Arizona has made it all the way back through the loser's bracket to win the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series with a 4-2 victory over Cowley Saturday.

The win gives the Vaqueros their fourth World Series title with the most recent being in 2019. CAC also won championships in 1976 and 2002.

Central, which was seeded sixth in the tournament, finishes with a 60-13 record, while Cowley, the No. 7-seed, closes at 54-11.

The Vaqueros lost in their WS opener to Crowder and then staved off elimination five times to take the championship.

In the title game, Cowley scored in the top of the first, but CAC answered with two in the bottom half of the inning on two runs on a fielding error by the Tigers' second baseman.

CCC tie it in the top of the second, but Central took the lead for good when Jaylin Rae reached on an error by the Cowley centerfielder, scoring Trey Newman.

CAC added some insurance in the third on a solo home run by Dusty Garcia and then the pitchers took over with no more scoring by either team the rest of the game.
