Joseph Henry Koch, age 57, of Larned, passed away on April 25, 2024, in Larned.
He was born Sept. 25, 1966, in Larned, the son of Ronald J. and Linda L. Wren Koch.
A longtime area resident, he had over 30 years experience in autobody painting. He was a warehouse manager for Auto Body Color and co-owner of Koch’s Kustoms. He was a member of the Santa Fe Trail Center Board and served on the Tired Iron Show and Boots and Brews Committees. He was a Board Member for the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce, Larned Chamber Ambassador, and former volunteer fireman with Larned Fire Department. He coached PeeWee Football and Youth Softball and belonged to the Larned Cornhole Club. He raced regionally for 20 years and won over 40 awards during his career, including 2003 Track Champion and the Sportsmanship Award at DCRP.
On March 15, 1997, he married Michelle L. Nash, in Larned; she survives.
Other survivors include: three children, Morgan Bixenman, Oakley, Joseph Wesley Koch, Larned, Alexandra (Marcus) McKinney, Windsor, Colorado; two sisters, Michelle (Kurt) Snyder, Cimarron, Melissa (Jeff) Moore, Larned; brother, David (Shaula) Koch, Broken Arrow, Okla.; four grandchildren, Stella, Behrett, McKenna, Landry; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Bishop Mark Cowell presiding. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Beckwith Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Larned Cemetery.
