RUSSELL COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 8:30a.m. Friday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Cody Razo, 24, Kansas City, Missouri, was westbound on Interstate 70 and attempted to exit the highway near Dorrance. The driver lost control and struck the 199 exit sign in the center of the pavement at the interchange of the exit ramp.
The motorcycle began to skid and the driver was thrown from the vehicle. Both driver and motorcycle came to rest on the north side of Interstate 70 and south side of the exit ramp in the grassy area.
EMS transported Razo to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. She was wearing a helmet and safety googles, according to the KHP.
