K-9 alerts to narcotics, man arrested in Great Bend for drugs

On Wednesday, June 25,  at approximately 4:15 p.m., an officer from the Great Bend Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 600 block of Main Street. During the stop, K9 Niko was deployed for a free air sniff of the vehicle.

After K9 Niko alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was completed. Inside the vehicle, officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The driver, and only occupant, Chad Teichman, age 55, was placed under arrest, and booked in lieu of bond.
