Dakota Tucker has been employed with Eagle Communications in Great Bend for the past 10 years. Starting in January 2024, he will take on the leadership role of becoming the next general manager.

Growing up in St. John, Tucker attended Pratt Community College and Fort Hays State University to study marketing and communications. After FHSU, he accepted a part-time position at Eagle Radio in Great Bend as a board operator for Eagle’s coverage of local sports. That gig led to a fulltime job handling on-air production and eventually a career in sales.

"I did a little programming work on 104.3," said Tucker. "I had the opportunity to step over into the sales side. It was a seamless transition from one side of the hall, so to speak, to the other. It's been an incredible journey."

Eagle operates four stations from its Baker Street studios: 1590 KVGB & 95.5 FM, 100.7 Eagle Country, B104.3 The Point, Hits 106.9 and the website greatbendpost.com.

"We have an opportunity to work with the best businesses, the best listeners and best clients," said Tucker. "Their success is our success. Our big, key phrase is 'Our community...connected' and I feel like we do a phenomenal job at that."

Tucker takes over the general manager position from Matt Althouse in January 2024. Althouse became manager in August 2021, and accepted a position with Eagle in Hutchinson.

"I feel like you don't get the opportunity to do what you love very often," said Tucker. "When it hits you, it's amazing."
