Great Bend traffic stop ends with cocaine charges

On Wednesday, Jan. 4 at approximately 3:48 a.m., officers with the Great Bend Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of Casey's General Store, 2716 10th Street, for an illegal license plate.

During the traffic stop, K9 Menta was utilized to conduct a free air sniff, where she alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.

While detaining a passenger out of the vehicle, a male subject, identified as Damien Clone, age 22, was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. While searching the vehicle, Officers located marijuana inside of the vehicle as well.

Clone was placed under arrest for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp. Clone was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond.
