Peggy Lee Latham, 93, died September 9, 2024, at Wheatland Health Care Center, Kingman, Kansas. She was born December 4, 1930, in Hoisington, Kansas, the youngest daughter of O.A. and Lela (Spires) Pennington. Peggy graduated from Hoisington High School in 1949.
On May 19, 1951, she eloped to Las Vegas, New Mexico and married her high school sweetheart, H.N. “Bud” Latham. They lived in Great Bend for several years before moving to Utah in 1968. They later returned to Kansas upon their retirement, residing in Turon.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years; Bud Latham of the home; two daughters, Kala Oaks and husband Jeff of Vernal, Utah, and Annie Hacking and husband Briant of Turon, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, June White, Jean Marcum, and Juanita Susank, and her son, Gregory Latham.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Hoisington Cemetery.
