
For the first time since 2010, the Great Bend High School girls track & field team won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship.
The Lady Panthers finished with 127 points Thursday in Liberal, outpacing second-place Dodge City with 77 points.
The Great Bend boys ended the day with 54 points, finishing 5th. Hays boys won the meet with 120 points. Sophomore Kaiden Esfeld was named the WAC boys MVP after winning the 800 Meter, 1600 and 3200.
Coach Lyles Lashley was named WAC Coach of the Year.
