SALINA—All dogs at the animal shelter in Salina are currently under quarantine, according to a social media report from Salina Animal Services.

The quarantine is a precautionary measure due to a recent Giardia outbreak. Giardia is a tiny parasite (germ) that causes diarrhea, according to the CDC.

"The health and safety of our animals are our top priority, and we are currently consulting with a local veterinarian to manage the situation and ensure proper care," the shelter wrote.

"We appreciate your understanding and support during this time. If you are interested in adopting, please stay tuned for further updates as we continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for your patience! For any questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly."
