KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just before 3p.m. Wednesday in Kansas City.
A Lincoln MKZ sedan was southbound on Prospect Avenue at a high rate of speed, according to Police Captain Jake Becchina. Just south of 63rd Street, a gray Lincoln MKX SUV was exiting a parking garage and making a left turn onto northbound Prospect.
The sedan struck the front end of the SUV, continued southbound across the northbound lanes of Prospect, traveling off the east side of the roadway and struck a large tree.
The driver of the MKZ was pronounced deceased at the scene. The front seat and rear seat passengers of the MKZ were both transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the MKX was uninjured in the collision. Police have not released the name of the victim. The accident remains under investigation.
