14-year-old girl airlifted to KC hospital after UTV accident

GENTRY COUNTY—A 14-year-old girl was injured in an accident just after 9:30p.m. Sunday in Gentry County, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Polaris Ranger XP driven by a 14-year-old King City girl was southbound in a field on  private property along U.S. Highway 48 one mile west of King City. The driver attempted to turn east and the UTV tipped over on the passenger side. A 14-year-old female passenger was partially ejected. 

Grand River Ambulance transported the girl to Mosaic Life Care. She was later airlifted to Children's Mercy in Kansas City.  The 14-year-old driver was examined at the scene and released, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
