A Pair of Great Bend coaches have earned awards from the Kansas Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association.
Panther cross country and track coach Lyles Lashley was named 5A girls track Coach of the Year, while Great Bend high jump coach Bill Maddy was named the assistant coach of the year for jumps in track.
Lashly led the Panther girls to a runner-up finish at the 2022 5A State Track Meet.
Maddy had two jumpers, Valarie Luna and Sadie Spray, place second and third respectively at the state meet.
