MCPHERSON, Kan. — According to a message sent to parents Tuesday evening, McPherson High students will be back in school on Wednesday.
"The motor in the chiller of the HVAC system at MHS has been replaced and is running as necessary to cool the building," said principal Dr. Audrey A. Herbst.
School will be in session Wednesday, August 23rd.
McPherson High will operate on a normal Wednesday schedule with a 2:15 student dismissal time for professional learning and collaboration for staff.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students," Herbst said.
This news comes after McPherson High students were sent home at 10:45 a.m. Monday and did not have school Tuesday due to the HVAC problems.
An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday for McPherson County.
