Kansas woman caught drinking, driving and transporting meth

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 4:30a.m. April 11., a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Dakota for traffic infractions near 142nd and U.S. High 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

A Jackson County Sheriff K9 was deployed which alerted to the presence of illegal drug contraband inside the vehicle.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and 7.5 Grams of Methamphetamine was located along with drug paraphernalia.

Deputies arrested Sandra Kay Groves, 66, of Topeka, on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting an open container.
