RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a woman for a crime using a stolen phone.
Just after 5:30p.m. Monday, officers filed a report for harassment by telecommunications device, transmitting/communicating false information to request emergency service assistance, and interference with LEO at 222 N. Juliette Avenue in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
. A 27-year-old woman was reported to have called 911 sixteen times, each time remaining silent and never reporting an emergency when officers arrived in the area.
The report explained that the 27-year-old woman was in possession of a phone that did not belong to her and was using it to call 911. Officers attempted to issue the woman a notice to appear, but she refused to sign the citations and resisted arrest when officers attempted to take her into custody.
Tantaliyah Parson, 27, of Manhattan, was arrested at 9:00 p.m. for harassment by telecommunications device, transmitting/communicating false information to request emergency service assistance, and interference with LEO. Parson remains jailed on a bond of $5,000
