2nd inmate captured after escape from SW Missouri jail

BARRY COUNTY —A second inmate who escaped from a Southwest Missouri County jail June 3, is in custody, according to the Barry County Sheriff's office.

Matthew Crawford, 29, who made a dramatic change to his appearance while on the run is in custody in Greene County on requested charges of stealing and a hold for Barry  County, according to online jail records. He was arrested in Springfield Monday.

On June 8, police in Natrone County, Wyoming captured 37-year-old Christopher Blevins.

Blevins, Crawford and Lance Justin Stephens escaped from jail and were considered armed and dangerous. They were in custody on requested theft, drug and weapons charges.

The inmates are believed to be connected to the theft of a white 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup stolen in Barry County in Southwest Missouri and  found in Salina, Kansas.
