SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Kansas felon who hid from police for over a week following a shooting and standoff in Wichita made his first court appearance Friday.
Wesley Roberts, 30, has been charged with aggravated battery, robbery, criminal damage to property and criminal possession of a weapon.
SEDGWICK COUNTY — A week after police asked for help to locate an armed and dangerous suspect, police arrested 30-year-old Wesley Roberts, according to a sstatement from Wichita. Police. He was wanted in connection with the shooting investigation that occurred on July 9 in the 1500 block of S. Pattie in Wichita.
Just before 9p.m. July 16, police located and arrested Roberts in the 700 block of N. Broadway in Wichita, according to a media release. On July 9, police asked for help to find Roberts who was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 1500 block of S. Pattie in Wichita.
The arrest was the result of the coordinated efforts of several Wichita Police units, including Patrol Officers, Investigators, the K-9 Unit, Field Community Response Team (CRT), Violent Crimes Community Response Team (CRT), and the U.S. Marshals Task Force Officer (TFO).
Roberts has a previous conviction for criminal threat, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
