In May, a jury found Huffman guilty of DUI and leaving the scene of a crash that killed  24-year-old Anastasia Carter in 2023. Huffman earlier pleaded no contest to driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without a required interlock device, according to the DA's office.

On November 22, 2023, Huffman’s truck struck a car driven by Carter at Shade Lane and Ridge Road in Wichita, according to police. EMS transported Carter to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  Huffman has been in custody since the night of the crash, according to online jail records. Huffman will have two years of post-release supervision.
