CLOUD COUNTY—A Manhattan man died in an accident just before 10p.m. Sunday in Cloud County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford Econoline van driven by Marco Lopez, 47, Kansas City, Missouri, was westbound on U.S. 24 five and one half miles west of Miltonvale.
The van traveled into the eastbound lane and struck a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle driven by James Ray Dille, 63, Manhattan. After impact the motorcycle came to rest in the south ditch. The van entered the south ditch, struck a power pole and came to rest in a field.
Dille was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Lopez and two passengers in the van were not injured. Dille was not wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.
