SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the rape of a 72-year-old woman two years ago.
On Friday a judge sentenced 33-year-old Jeremy Brown of Valley Center to 10 years in prison, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. In March, a jury found guilty on four counts of rape.
Just before 4:30a.m. June 26, 2021, police responded to a report of rape at a home in the 1600 block of South St. Paul Street in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson and contacted a 72-year-old woman identified as a victim.
Investigators learned the 72-year-old woman was with a 37-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man at a local bar where they met Jeremy Brown and then all four met at a home on St. Paul Street. At the residence, Brown sexually assaulted the 72-year-old. Brown also is required to register as a sex offender for life.
