ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect after a violent altercation at a Kansas home.

Just after 8p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 400 block R Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

A disturbance had occurred involving a 67-year-old male victim and a 28-year-old family member. The victim sustained bruising and bleeding on his arms and chest but did not require medical responders at the scene.

As 28-year-old Jullian Flores was being taken into custody for domestic battery he kicked an officer and resisted arrest, according to Wilson.

He was subsequently taken into custody on requested charges of domestic battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement, and criminal damage to property.
