SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide and have identified the victim as&nbsp;Charles Balocca, 61, of Topeka, according to Topeka Police Lt. Ronnie Connell.

Just before&nbsp;&nbsp;11:00 a.m. Friday, police were notified of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound in the 100 block of NW U.S. 24 Highway.

First responders located a man later identified as Balocca who was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the scene. Police have not released suspect information or additional details

This is Topeka’s sixth homicide investigation of the year, according to Connell.
