SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Harlan Red Tailed Hawk known as Harley, Jr., used for educational programming that escaped his enclosure in early December has been found but not captured, yet.

On Thursday, the Midwest Avian Foundation reported "folks we have eyes on Harley Jr. He is alive and well and we will be retrieving him soon."

"We thank all of you who have sent in tips and sightings of Harley Jr."

"Harley is also quite feisty. We chased him several places today (Thursday) he has settled in for the night we know where he is perched and he will not move at night."

"We will resume trying to recapture him Friday. We have an entire crew that will be looking for him, and we do know where he is and he will be recaptured soon.  He is currently in a tree in the 8100 block of Mount Vernon in Wichita. Harley is alive and well and still playing Houdini."
