Sheriff: Man accused of selling meth from Kansas home

BROWN COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a couple on drug allegations.

Just before 1a.m. June 8, sheriff's deputies and Hiawatha police were attempting to locate a wanted individual in the city of Hiawatha, according to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant.

Upon speaking with an individual at a local residence, a consent search was granted to attempt to locate the wanted subject.   Illegal drug items were witnessed  in plain view during the search for the wanted subject and officers were granted voluntary consent for additional illegaldrug/narcotic search  within the home, according to Merchant.

Upon conclusion of the investigation deputies arrested 47-year-old James Scott of Hiawath on requested charges of Possession of Meth, Felony Distribution, No Drug Tax Stamp, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, i

Deputies also arrested 37-year-old Allicia Ramirez of Hiawatha on requested charges of Possession of Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
