LANE COUNTY—Three people avoided injury after a small plane incident in western Kansas.
At 2:30p.m. Saturday, sheriff's deputies and Fire and EMS were dispatched to an aircraft emergency in the area of 96 highway and Jagger Road west of Dighton, according to a social media report from the Lane County Sheriff's office.
First responders determined that a twin engine Piper aircraft had lost both engines and was forced to land in a field.
The pilot and two passengers were uninjured and the plane did not appear to have significant damage.
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB will be in charge of the investigation.
