KANSAS CITY— One person died and three other including two juveniles were injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Saturday in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a black Chevrolet Suburban was northbound on Interstate 435 at a high rate of speed. Just north of Eastwood Trafficway, the SUV traveled off the roadway to the right and continued to travel northbound through grassy shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle went into a broad slide and then rolled.
The front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Gonzalez. The driver was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The two juvenile rear seat passengers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. All lanes of northbound I-435 were closed to traffic at Eastwood Trafficway for approximately 3 hours. This is fatality #35 compared to #27 at this time last year
