SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal crash into a house on Thursday in Topeka have identified the man who died as 36-year-old Troy L. Fields, Jr. of Topeka, according to police spokesperson Rosie Nichols.
Just after 11:30p.m. Thursday, first responders found a vehicle that struck a home near SW Huntoon and SW Plass in Topeka, according to Topeka Police Sgt. Shawn Doiron.
Officers located a passenger later identified as Fields who had been ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased. Police continue investigating the crash and released no additional details.
