KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two homicides on Tuesday in Kansas City.
Just before 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a medical call at 65th and Paseo, according to Police Captain Corey Carlisle.
First responders located a woman lying on the sidewalk, suffering from apparent bodily trauma. Officers were unable to detect any signs of life. EMS pronounced her deceased.
The circumstances leading up to the homicide are unknown. No one is in custody at this time. Police have not released her name.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene to recover any evidence and speak to any potential witnesses.
Just after 3p.m. Tuesday, police located a man lying on the sidewalk at 44th and Montgall in Kansas City. The victim was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers administered life saving measures until EMS arrived on scene. EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to Carlisle.
Police have two suspects in custody in the afternoon homicide.
