WILSON COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested a Chanute man for alleged child sex crimes.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, at approximately 8:15 a.m., KBI agents served an arrest warrant for Brian W. Bollig, 55, of Chanute, according to a media release from the KBI.

Bollig was arrested near a residence at 1400 Road and Anderson Road, in Chanute. He was arrested for sexual exploitation of a child.

The case began in June 2026, after the KBI received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children suggesting Bollig possessed child sexual abuse material. Search warrants were executed to locate evidence.

Following his arrest, Bollig was booked into the Wilson County Jail.
