Kansas police recruit officer accused of criminal threat

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a police recruit in connection with an alleged criminal threat.

Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday the Wichita Police Department responded to a domestic violence disturbance in the 1700 block of South Beech Street in Wichita, according to Office Chad Ditch.

Officers arrived on the scene and contacted a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman both of Wichita.

Officers learned that man was involved in a verbal argument with a 21- year-old man, identified as Recruit Officer Trevon Morrison.

For transparency purposes, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate and booked Morrison on a requested charge of Criminal Threat.

Morrison is a Recruit Officer with the Wichita Police Department and assigned to the training academy. He has been employed since July 25, 2022.
