JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal accident found on Wednesday believe the victim actually died in the crash on Sunday.
Just after 11:30a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 6100 Block of Riverview after report of an accident involving a vehicle in a creek bed, according to police department spokesperson Nancy Chartrand.
First responders found the sole occupant, a man in his 60s, was dead.
Investigators determined the vehicle was westbound Sunday evening on Riverview when it left the road, struck an embankment and landed in a semi-frozen creek bed.
The location of the crash in a wooded area and the position in which the vehicle came to rest made it extremely difficult for passing motorists to have seen, according to Chartrand. Police have not released the victim's name or additional details.
