KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Kansas City.
Just after 10a.m. Tuesday, police responded to North Ambassador Drive and NW Polo Drive of a call from petitioner of an ex parte order of protection who had concerns about the respondent and wanted police to speak to the respondent, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol who is in charge of the investigation.
As the two officers responded along North Ambassador Drive they observed a woman, the respondent, walking along the road. Officers attempted to speak with her. She was not compliant. She was armed and presented a hand gun. One of the officers discharged his duty gun and wounded the woman.
Officers immediately rendered medical aid and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The patrol released no additional details Tuesday afternoon.
