Police arrest suspect in Kansas murder investigation

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a deadly shooting and have a suspect in custody.

Just after 2a.m. May 6, police responded to a report of gunshots in the   2800 block of East Douglas in Wichita, according to Police Lt. Aarom Moses.  First responders located a vehicle with the victim later identified as 35-year-old Isaiah Gails, who was driving a dark-colored four-door car.  

On Saturday Wichita Police Officer Kris Gupilan reported the arrest of a 32-year-old suspect identified as Victor Baxter, according to Sedgwick County arrest records. He is being held on requested charges of First Degree Murder, Criminal Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
