RENO COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged sex trafficking.
On Monday, deputies in Reno County responded to a residence in regards to a runaway from the state of New York, according to a media release from the Reno County Sheriff.
During the investigation of how the runaway arrived in Reno County, it was discovered the 20-year-old suspect, David Gingerich of Ohio, went to the juvenile's residence and took her back to Ohio then to the residence in the 3600 Block of South Herren Road.
Once the runaway was removed from the residence, she reported being sexually assaulted by Gingerich. Deputies arrested Gingerich on requested charges of Aggravated Sex Trafficking, Rape, and Aggravated Criminal Sodomy.
His bond has been set at $350,000. He made his first appearance Wednesday morning and is awaiting formal charges to be filed by the Reno County District Attorney's Office.
