Keeping up with the times, the Great Bend Recreation Commission is adjusting their programming efforts to keep the community involved with activities. Understanding that many people are hesitant to attend leisure programs in person, the Great Bend Rec has developed "Projects to Go" this fall and winter.

Participants simply register for the class and then stop by the Rec and the project and needed supplies will be in a bag.

Enrichment Director Garet Fitzpatrick says anyone can take the project home and complete it at their convenience.

"We will also have an instructor do a Facebook Live class to show how to do it and different techniques," said Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick encouraged the community to like the Great Bend Rec Facebook page to get all the details.

"We are giving an opportunity for people to stay involved and do this at home with friends or family," said Fitzpatrick. "I look forward to seeing how this goes."

Participants may need to provide some of their own basic supplies such as glue or scissors. The Rec will sponsor a Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter "Projects to Go" this year.
