KANSAS CITY —Investigators are working to determine the cause of a deadly house fire in the Kansas City-area.
Just after 11 a.m. Saturday crews responded to a house fire near James Downey Road at 23rd Street in Independence, according to a statement from police.
A juvenile died in the fire. EMS transported two adults to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police. Officials have not released the names of the victims or additional details.
