Man enters plea in deadly Kansas crash while fleeing police

 JOHNSON COUNTY —A Kansas City area man has pleaded guilty in connection with a car crash that left a 19-year-old dead.

Uconn Coleman, 24, Grain Valley, Missouri pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, aggravated battery, fleeing and eluding a police officer, and leaving the scene of a crash, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.

In June of 2023 a speeding Ford Fusion driven by Coleman struck a Honda Accord driven by 19-year-old Benny Kleczka who was stopped at the intersection of Antioch and Shawnee Mission Parkway.  A woman in the Honda was also injured.

 Coleman is scheduled for sentencing on May 20, according to the district attorney's office.
