SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations in connection with a robbery.
Just before 10 p.m. Sept. 26, police responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of SW Cottonwood in Topeka according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks. Officers found that a man identified as Dustin J. Franklin, 36, Topeka, had forced his way inside the facility and threatened a person inside.
Franklin left prior to officers’ arrival, but was later located nearby and taken into custody.
Franklin is jailed on requested charges of Aggravated Robbery; Armed w/dangerous weapon, Aggravated burglary; Locked dwelling for felony, theft, DV, sexually motivated, Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated assault; Use of a deadly weapon, Aggravated battery; Knowingly use physical contact in angry/rude manner w/weapon, Interference with LEO; obstruct/resist/oppose felony warrant service or execution, Aggravated assault of LEO; Use of a deadly weapon and Battery on LEO; Physical contact with country or city officer on duty.
