Three hospitalized after pickup, semi hauling cattle collide

SALINE COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 10p.m. Thursday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 GMC Sonoma driven by Molly Ann Wallace, 17, Beverly, was northbound on Interstate 135 and started to take the exit to Interstate 70.

When veering back onto Interstate 135 into the driving lane, the pickup   and a northbound 2006 Peterbilt semi hauling cattle and driven by Ray Dean Hummel, 66, of Wisconsin collided and side swiped.

EMS transported Wallace, Hummel and a passenger in the semi Joyce Elaine Hummel, 66, also of Wisconsin, to Salina Regional Health Center.

Joyce Hummel was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
